Halo 3

Halo 3 (Bungie) - Xbox 360
Halo 3 is a First Person Shooter set in the 26Th century during the UNSC (Marines) and the Covenant (Aliens) war. You take the control of Master Chief, a technologically enhanced supersoldier who is assisted by the UNSC Marines and a race of aliens called Elites led by the Arbiter into battle to destroy the Covenant. The campaign has 4 different difficulties to play which are; Easy, Normal, Heroic, and Legendary. If you are generally great at FPS' then playing Legendary is the way to play, the enemies put up a real challenger and in large numbers can be incredibly dangerous. Although if you are new to FPS' then the Easy and Normal difficulties are easy enough to enjoy without becoming stressed at how much you die, some enemies even run away from you! The campaign has a maximum of four people in co-operative with the players occupying Master Chief, the Arbiter, a blue Elite, and a red Elite. Halo 3 is also famously known for its online game play. With many play-lists for you to choose, the variety never ends hence making this an excellent game to be played with a lot of friends for competition or for just entertainment.
Halo 3 is age rated 15 because of the strong violence and carnage. The length of the campaign is reasonably paced but not mind-numbingly time consuming, each level is differently set for time, some taking from about 20-30 minutes to some taking over an hour. The game saves after completing each level, inside of each level are checkpoints which you can revert to when you die, however one thing that irritates me about the save system is how if one person gets disconnected from the game then you need to restart the entire level from the beginning. There are certain levels in the campaign which can be repeatedly played for the sheer concept of the level, yet some can be dull or annoying when repeatedly played, there is only one sole outcome which still leads on with the Halo series story. The area plan out is pretty straight forward on where you have to as there are sometimes arrows or pathways in the direction of where the objective is. The graphics in this game are obviously based in the future yet they do have the hint of realism in landscapes, characters and enemies. The deaths are a little animated on the multi-player and can sometimes glitch and freak out which defeats the realism of the game. Although the cinematics can be incredibly life-like at times between levels. The audio in the game, the voices during cut-scenes and game play can be heard very clearly and the elites voices sound incredibly suited to the alien figure.
The controls are pretty simple with the basic FPS controls, however you can change the layout of the controls to several different layouts, there is even a left handed setting! I would rate this game 95% out of 100% with the campaign disconnection problem being the only thing to let it slip from full marks. Thank you for reading, InfectedGamer.
